My name is Simon Willey and I’ve worked in the music industry since 2001. I founded Mudlark Sound Studios as a space where artists & bands are able to realise their true creative potential. I’m located just ten minutes drive from Bath Spa, by the river in Batheaston.
Whether it’s producing, engineering, or mixing for major artists (Bryan Ferry, Prince, Alex James), or helping amateur singer/songwriters who are trying to take their first steps, it’s my passion for the creation of music as art that I bring to every project. I’ve also had the privilege of working with, and learning from, some of the best producers in the business – Chris Hughes, Mike Hedges, and Rhett Davies.
Outside the studio, I’ve also toured extensively with acts such as Bryan Ferry/Roxy Music, Zucchero, and Soft Cell, so I’m able to offer help to musicians and bands on this front as well.
Nothing brings me greater joy than spending time with people in the studio, whether it’s producing tracks, mixing, or simply sharing songs with each other.
