I’ve worked in the music industry for over 20 years as a recording & mix engineer, and more recently as a producer.
Throughout that time I have worked with many established artists, as well as nurturing new talent and helping artists who feel they need a change of direction.
I started my career in October 2000 after completing a Diploma Course at Alchemea College, London, with a first class pass. I quickly started working with several producers and studios as an engineer and programmer. I worked with Mike Hedges (The Cure, Travis) at Wessex Studios, James Sanger (Dido, Keane), Johnson Somerset (Bryan Ferry, Steve Winwood) whilst also recording and producing new artists, such as noughties buzz bands Grantura, Mohanski and Goldheart Assembly.
Between 2008 and 2017 I worked very closely with Bryan Ferry, running his studio as Chief Engineer alongside producer Rhett Davies. During this time we made seven albums, and I had the privilege of recording many incredible musicians, such as Nile Rodgers, Johnny Marr, Marcus Miller, David Gilmour and Andy Newmark, as well as touring extensively with both Bryan Ferry & Roxy Music. I also continued to work with many other artists, producing tracks with Dylan & Lots Holloway and with Alex James (Blur), engineering an album with Maven Grace and working sessions with Prince & 3rd Eye Girl.
2018 saw me relocate to Bath and renew acquaintances with my great friend Chris Hughes (Tears For Fears, Peter Gabriel), whom I’d met during the Maven Grace sessions. I used his Ashley Manor studio to continue my mixing and production work, as well as collaborating with Chris on several projects (most recently the mixing of the first and second Maven Grace albums).
I’ve also enjoyed working with many new Bristol bands like Quade, The Hypothetics, and Melotone. There was also a return to touring as Pro Tools Engineer for major Italian recording artist Zucchero, alongside a few shows with Soft Cell.
During 2023/2024 I’ve helped facilitate some location recording with The Rolling Stones and produced and mixed the debut album for Bristol band The Hypothetics (recorded at Black Bay Studios, Outer Hebrides & finished at Mudlark…)
I currently perform live with Maven Grace playing bass guitar & synths.
